Think and Grow Rich is one of the best selling books of all time. One of the principles contained in the book is the idea that, through positive affirmations, you can condition your unconscious mind to believe that certain desired outcomes are going to happen.

Through this conditioning, you "attract" those desired outcomes into your life. This could be through a lucky break, a strange coincidence, or simply by being in the right place at the right time. This is The Law of Attraction Secret.

Recently, "The Law of Attraction" has captured public imagination due to DVDs such as "What the bleep do we know" and "The Secret", alongside popular books such as "The Cosmic Ordering Service".

The theory has been around for a long time. According to the 1910 book "The Science of Getting Rich" by Wallace D. Wattles:

"This theory [of the Law of Attraction] is of Hindu origin, and has been gradually winning its way into the thought of the western world for three hundred years..."

Another interesting (if slightly heavy going) read is the 1906 book "Thought Vibration or the Law of Attraction in the Thought World" by William Walker Atkinson.
