NLP Hypnotherapy Manchester - Other Problems

“There comes a time when the mind takes a higher plane of knowledge but can never prove how it got there."

Albert Einstein

Your mind is a powerful thing. This power can be harnessed to make changes in your life. Positive changes either to yourself, or your perception of matters in life.

Hypnotherapy and NLP work directly with your mind in a safe yet effective way.

Changes can be made to the way you perceive things, for example: how you perceive pain, how you perceive your partner's snoring, how you perceive pressure, tinnitus, guilt, or driving anxieties.

Changes can also be made to the body. For example: removal of warts, allergies such as hayfever, back pain, high blood pressure, ME, IBS, stuttering.

Changes can also be made in the manner of enhancements or improvements: improved memory, improved sport performance, improvement and enhancement of a current skill or skills.

Finally, changes can be made to a whole array of disorders including: OCD, bulimia, anorexia, obsessive or morbid thoughts, nail biting and trichotillomania, and anger disorders.

Using the power of hypnosis and NLP, you can make positive and lasting changes to your life. Contact me now to find out more - click here.

Imagine dealing with your problems

NLP and hypnosis are very effective methods for bringing great change into your life.

These changes can be emotional, mental, they can be perceptual, or physical or behavioural. These changes can be enhancements, improvements, or the removal of unwanted behaviours or attributes. Here are some of the issues I've dealt with in my clinic.

Eating disorders and complex depression

I have extensive experience in working with people who have eating disorders, or who are experiencing deep and long-term depression. These are complicated issues, but I always presuppose an existence of negative self-belief in each case. A famous hypnotist, Gil Boyne, stated that at the root-cause of all problems, lies the negative self-belief "I'm not good enough". I agree that these types of powerful, negative beliefs often contribute towards eating disorders and depression.

Jealousy and Trust Issues

Jealousy in relationships (or between siblings and friends) is a combination of thoughts, feelings and behaviours stemming from a negative self-belief (often, although not always, unconscious). The belief runs along the lines of "I'm not good enough, and I need you to focus on me; I need you not to hurt me; I need you not to be better than me..." This belief isn't a rational belief, it's an emotional belief stemming from difficult experiences either in childhood, or difficult relationships. This belief needn't dominate our whole experience, it comes to the foreground in certain contexts.

A person can be helped to overcome jealousy by negating the power of those past experiences, whilst ensuring that the beliefs they hold about themselves are positive, rather than damaging.

Trichotillomania (hair pulling), jaw grinding, nail biting, and other habit disorders

Hair pulling, nail biting, twitching, some tourettes-like symptoms, even scratching can really take over a person's life. There are two factors in the establishment of such habits: one is, through repetition, the behaviour (e.g. nail biting) just becomes automated. Usually this tendency to make things automatic is a good thing - learning to drive for example is much easier when you've done it many times. However sometimes it can have negative consequences: if you repeatedly scratch a patch of eczema, then eventually you may keep scratching regardless of whether it is itching or not.

Another basis for such habits are stress-related anxieties. An overly anxious person may unconsciously turn to hair pulling or jaw grinding as a way of shedding stress. Usually, the basis for this anxious stress is rooted in emotional beliefs: a person who fears she isn't good enough to do well in her career might find herself grinding her teeth in her sleep, for example. With repetition, the habitual element also comes into play, meaning these issues can be complex, but not unsolvable.

Skill Improvements

Sometimes we want to better in a given skill, hobby, or discipline. Over the years, I have worked with rowers, cyclists, martial artists, darts players, marksmen, poker players and more to bring about an enhancement of their ability. The same can be said of students wishing to study with more focus or clarity, and even currency traders hoping to put in place good strategies for success.

Blushing

I work with blushing frequently; it is usually tied into a deeper anxiety about fitting in, and can be related to the fight-or-flight response. The usual trigger is sudden scrutiny or focus of attention. It can happen many, many times per day - sometimes small flushes, sometimes large, blotchy areas covering arms and shoulders...

Blushing can be helped by uncovering the negative belief at play behind the fear of sudden scrutiny / focus of attention. Usually, it runs along the lines of "I don't want you to look at me, because I fear you will reject what you see". Again, as people who blush tend to blush a lot, after a while it becomes habitual, even if the emotional disturbances have fallen into the past.

Obsessive thoughts and OCD-type behaviour

Anxieties have a massive effect on emotional state, thoughts and behaviours. There are many anxiety disorders, and using a combination of hypnosis and NLP, I can help. I do this by uncovering the thoughts that are generating the anxieties, teaching you how to cope with anxieties and stress more successfully, and helping a person boost their confidence and self-esteem.
